Biosphere Partner
Within the partner initiative, a network is offered that provides companies, associations and organizations with the opportunity for exchange and promotes cooperative collaboration with the Biosphere Administration Office. It also helps to contribute to the UNESCO mission of the Biosphere Region through sustainable management. With this goal in mind, it is possible to be awarded the status of ‘Partner of the Berchtesgadener Land Biosphere Region’ after fulfilling various requirements.
Acting and operating sustainably in the biosphere region
The “Responsible Business” network of the Berchtesgadener Land Wirtschaftsservice GmbH and the two “partner initiatives” of the Berchtesgadener Land Biosphere Region and the Berchtesgaden National Park are currently active in the region. The common denominator are the 17 sustainability goals of the UN Agenda 2030. Since 2020, all three organizations have been in close exchange with the aim of giving sustainable, future-oriented impulses in the region.
Become a „Partner of the Biosphere Region“
As a partner of the Berchtesgadener Land Biosphere Region, you will manage your business with respect for people and nature, create awareness as Biosphere Ambassadors and help to preserve the Berchtesgadener Land as a sustainable area for living, business and recreation and to establish it as a model region for sustainable development.
The Biosphere Partners
Partners of the Biosphere Region operate in the Berchtesgadener Land region, stem from a wide range of industries and present companies of very different sizes. They all have a proven commitment to sustainability, a vibrant sustainability culture and are motivated to be active as biosphere ambassadors on the basis of the 17 SDGs.
Partner initiatives in Germany - National Natural Landscapes
The Berchtesgadener Land Biosphere Region is a member of Nationale Naturlandschaften e.V., the umbrella organization of National Natural Landscapes in Germany. Members of the umbrella organization can award partners of the respective protected area. There are nationwide uniform quality and environmental standards on which the partner initiatives are based.
Promotion of sustainable management
"Companies can make particularly important contributions to sustainable development in all dimensions of their actions (products and services, production, workforce, investors, supply). Companies in biosphere reserves are particularly called upon to become pioneers for green or sustainable or social economy initiatives in their own companies and in society and to abolish their own unsustainable practices."
